About the Artist
DONALD R. THOMPSON, a painter of the New England scene, was well known for his water-colors and excelled in other mediums as well. He was a resident of Branford, Connecticut and died in 1976.
A popular exhibitor along the shoreline, his art was shown at local, regional and national exhibits, as well as being reproduced by the New York Life Insurance Company’s calendar, American Artist Group Cards, the catalog of the Old Guilford Forge, and on six covers and center spreads of Yankee Magazine.
Thompson graduated from Quinnipiac College, New Haven, CT., and was Treasurer of the Snow-Nabstedt Gear Corporation.
